The post-adoption module ☍ is a proof of concept intended to facilitate the check for adopted acts and, additionally, compare terms in IATE against the terms used in the selected adopted act(s). It is located under the ‘Management’ menu and available to users with specific access rights (*).

CHECK THE ADOPTION STATUS OF ONE OR SEVERAL DOCUMENTS
You can insert one or several document numbers of the following types:
- OLP procedure number (e.g. 2007/0260/COD)
- CELEX number (e.g. 52020PC0610)
- COM number (e.g. COM/2022/151)
- preparatory document number (e.g. ST_11205_2020_INIT)
They can be inserted manually (separated by a comma or each on a separate line) or uploaded in a TXT file (one per line).
Once the document numbers are loaded, you can run a check to verify if there is a resulting adopted act as follows:
- Select one or more documents (if you wish to check all, you do not need to select any document)
- Click on ‘Check selected documents’ or ‘Check all documents’
When the processing finishes, a label displays the resulting status (‘adopted’ or ‘not found’) next to each document number.
![]() You can export the available data in this screen at any time and import it later as needed. |
RUN A TERMINOLOGY CHECK
Additionally, you can launch a terminology check against any document(s) with an adopted act resulting from the previous step. To do so, simply click on the document number and the following sections will be displayed to the right:
- Metadata: document number, adoption status, adopted act, last check date.
- Language bar: select the language(s) in which the terminology check will be run (multiple languages can be selected and parallel checks will be run).
- Adopted act(s): allows you to read and look through the document in IATE.
- Related entries: contains the IATE entries to be checked against the adopted document. Initially, the list will be empty. You can add the IATE IDs manually or automatically (entries containing the document reference), or load them from marks (entries with a mark containing the document reference), or from a terminology project (entries from ‘Preparatory material’ table).
- TRM requests: the terminology check is done via a monolingual Term Recognition request in the selected language, where the adopted document is analysed against the IATE content. The retrieved IATE matches are listed in a JSON file and in the ‘TRM termbases‘ section.
- TRM termbases: IATE entries retrieved via the TRM request, with the domain(s) and the first term on those entries in that language.
- Comparison: the TRM matches are compared with the list of IATE IDs inserted in the ‘Related entries‘ section. A green check or red cross next to each entry ID and term will indicate whether the term is present in the document or not.
