‘Term type’ is a mandatory field stored together with the term itself in each IATE entry. The possible values are Term, Abbreviation, Short form, Phrase, Formula and Lookup form (redirection).
All term types are selected by default when you run a search by term, but you can apply a filter to narrow down your results if needed. Click on the ‘Open expanded search‘ button to get a form where you can select one or multiple term types. The search will be run by the selected term types only, ignoring results from other term types.
 ‘Lookup form‘ is not offered as a selectable option, since it is always selected in the background to retrieve the corresponding terms which are exact matches, if available. Irrespective of the matching option selected, ‘Exact match’ is always applied for lookup forms to keep irrelevant results to a minimum. |
